Some of our loyal blog followers have asked about our cat, Lucy. Here's a pretty good picture of her....cat's are SOOOO hard to photograph, so uncooperative. For the first couple of weeks she stayed inside the boat and only left her bed (Steve's bed, really) when the engine was shut down. She is getting braver as time goes on. She's been out on the back deck, front deck and even out on a couple of docks; but only during the day and only with supervision. We think she is adapting well, and turning out to be a fine boat cat.

Am so enjoying reading your blog! I read about the water pump mid-week, and didn't check back until just now - have to admit you were in the back of my mind a few times over the weekend - sharing with Scott what happened. It's nice to travel with MacGyver on board, huh? Something like that had to happen - just sooner than expected. It reminded me of 1982, when Scott & I had a major breakdown in Iowa on a Fri aft on our way to a wedding in Colorado. Had to sit around all weekend before they could fix the car on Mon (missed the wedding). Our excitement on Saturday was walking around a KMart. You at least had bikes...and some money! I found a Great Loop Cruise Route map online so I can follow you. Love the photos! Brenda A.
You may be surprised to hear that by reading your blog, we kinda feel like we are going with you ! My husband, Tom, copied a big map from an atlas and he is charting your path with little stick pins. Even on the short trips we have taken, we have really enjoyed having our bikes along. It's a great way to look around the neighborhood, get some exercise, and transport supplies back to the boat. Once on a trip, we stopped in a small town, unloaded our bikes from the boat and found a motorcycle bar to watch a football game. We parked our bicycles right next to about 15 motorcycles. It was kinda funny when we all came out and were getting ready to take off. have a super day ! kathy e.
